Newcastle v Man City Betting Preview
What has happened to the Magpies? Slumping to five defeats in their last six Premier League matches now, with just one win in their last ten. They haven’t played bad football this season, they are just lacking a punch, largely in creativity from midfield and not having Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba scoring together. City had a long unbeaten run in the league snapped last weekend when they were toppled by rivals Man United, and the reigning champions haven’t been playing convincingly stuff. The mood at Newcastle would be boosted by a win over Man City, but that hasn’t happened for them in the last eleven meetings.

Newcastle v Man City Recommended Bet:
The Magpies really need to dig deep and start finding some form. It just hasn’t happened to them this season and Alan Pardew’s men have managed to take just four points of the last 21 that has been available to them. They are ten points worse off than they were at this stage last season. The January transfer window can’t come soon enough for them, especially when their form has declined to losing two of their last three home matches in the league, three of the last five home matches in the league. The Magpies have netted just six times in the last six league matches, three of those goals coming in one match, a 3-0 win over Wigan at St James Park. Defensively Newcastle have managed to keep just one clean sheet at home this season. Going forward just five different players have scored, with Demba Ba netting ten of their 18 goals and have managed a rate of just 1.25 goals per game at home this term. They are a little bit flat in all areas of the pitch and just need freshening up. A win against City would certainly do that and Demba Ba will be keen as he has scored five goals in his last six Premier League matches against the Magpies.
Man City had a 21 match unbeaten run snapped when a late Robin van Persie goal sunk them at the Etihad last weekend against Manchester United. that has left the champions six points adrift of the Red Devils in the title race. It has been a difficult month as City haven’t won any of their four matches played in December so far. However, they have been very good on the road, going unbeaten in their last ten matches. In that span of games the Citizens have managed to earn five clean sheets as well, and have scored six goals in their last five away matches. Their last three away games have produced clean sheets, so Roberto Mancini’s men, even though they haven’t been on top of their game this season, they have been resilient. They showed that last weekend in fighting back to draw level after falling two goals behind to Man United. With nine wins and two draws in their last eleven Premier League matches against Newcastle, and five straight wins against the Magpies, the visitors look as if they may just have enough to edge this, or at least get a point on the board. Carlos Tevez has four goals in the last six matches against the Magpies and a Man City 1 Goal Winning Margin for a price of 12/5 at online bookmaker Paddy Power.
